The Stories we tell, will cast their spell

I want Korra and Tahno to kinda become friends and she helps him through loosing his bending.  

Korra would be like, “yeah, fufilling my Avatar duty!”

but TAHNO would be like, “dude, I’m in love, the real kind, not the playboy kind!”

hen Mako will see them and be like, “what the heck, Tahno’s a freak and a jerk, I’m gonna be jealous and protective of Korra.”

And Korra will say, “Mako, don’t be stupid.”

And then Mako will be appropriately punished and Fandom will be like, “Ok Mako, I can stop being mad at you now.”

That’s what I want to happen, please.

Jinora is gonna have a little girl crush on Bolin.  It’s gonna happen.

Alright, here are my thoughts about Makorra right now.

First, I really do think that Makorra is gonna happen, watching the show, I can’t help think to myself that if I were a Masami shipper, this is not how I would want it to happen, and I really think that this is only to add conflict, because a safe ship, is a boring ship.

Also, I really think that Mako just doesn’t realize that Korra needs him.  He’s a protector, he protected Bolin as a Kid, and now he has a rich girlfriend “who everyone thinks is a defenseless little rich girl” and NOW has just lost her father… sort of.  Korra was right when she said Asami needs him, and I think Mako needs to be needed, and all he’s seen of Korra is, Kickbutt Probender, Kickbutt task force member, Kickbutt Avatar, strong, and independent.  So, my theory is, that he needs to see her broken.  

When Korra broke down and was crying and scared and stuff, Tenzin was there for her, but no one else saw that side of her.  So I think something tragic is going to happen to take Tenzin away for a bit, keep him busy (like maybe equalists kidnapping on of his children?) Leaving Korra scared and alone, and now that the fabulous bending brothers (plus Asami) are staying at Air Temple Island, Mako can be there to witness Korra breaking down, which will help him realize that she does need him, despite her attempts to be strong, and will set him on the path that will lead to Makorra.

That’s all… not that you care, but I had to get that off my chest.

Okay, so OBVIOUSLY Mako likes Korra, and Korra likes Mako.  And Bolin likes Korra.

And THIS is why Asami needs to exist right now, if she wasn’t there, then Korra and Mako would have gotten together and Bolin would be filled with sadness, and I like Bolin so that shouldn’t happen.

But back to Makorra.  I think that when Mako first saw Korra he was like, “That girl is amazing” but also felt like she was unatainable.  She’s the freakin’ Avatar afterall, and while he’s a probending champ, she quickly became one of those too and so she was officially out of his league (from his point of view) Plus, he knew that Bolin liked her which made her even more out of reach.  

Then along comes Asami, a rich probending fangirl… that put them on equal ground, and she was pretty and gorgeous and clearly into him so he let it happen and it was happy.  But then came the conversation with Bolin buh buh BUHHHHHM.

This conversation proved that Mako thought of Korra in a romantic way, even if he wasn’t letting himself act on it.  It was also when he realized that he was NOT okay with Bolin actually getting together with her.  

Now on to Korra.  She confessed her love to the guy she was meant to be with, with high expectations, thanks to Pema, and got completely shut down.  ”How lame must I be!” she thought (according to me).  Then Bolin, a good friend, shows up with tons of compliments and the promise of fun, this sounds pretty good to a girl recently rejected.  Bolin takes it seriously, but Korra thinks that they’re just having a good time.  

Mako, then realizes that he’s been unfair to Korra (after their argument) He totally rejected her, and then got mad at her for trying to get over him, so he decides to explain himself to her.  This in turn gave Korra hope, so in true Avatar form she decided to try and clear up his confusion with a Kiss.  A Kiss, that while Mako enjoyed, did not help his confusion.  And Bolin kinda killed the moment before Mako could really process it, he was mad and Korra and Himself and BOOM EXPLOSION OF FEELS!!!!

So they’ve all decided to take a step back… who wouldn’t?

But, this is why I think the Kiss was a good thing.  It gives Mako something to think about.  He will dwell on the kiss, why did he like it so much.  He will compare it to Kisses with Asami and eventually he will want more.  It will help him interpret his feelings as he cares more and more about Korra.  

Sorry this was really long, congratz for making it all the way down here.  Long story short, This last episode gave Makorra a foundation, but also made sure it was going to go at least a little bit slow.
